We'll visit your property and map out a plan, on us.
The right pergola turns a sun-baked patio into a year-round room, with shade when you want it, light when you do not, and shelter so you can use the space rain or shine.

We build pergolas in every major style, each with a different look, lifespan, and maintenance profile. We walk through the trade-offs with you in person so you pick what fits your home, budget, and long-term goals.
A pergola is a platform for everything else. We design lighting, audio, screens, and smart home integration into the structure from day one so the result feels built-in, not bolted on.

A selection of recent custom pergolas, pavilions, and covered outdoor living builds in Coopersburg, Center Valley, Bethlehem, Lower Saucon, and the surrounding Lehigh Valley.

A detailed plan covering style, materials, footings, built-in features, and a transparent price.
We handle the permit paperwork and set proper footings or mounting so the structure lasts decades, not seasons.
Licensed crew builds, wires, and commissions the pergola and every integrated feature. Typically 1–2 weeks.
A final walkthrough with controls, smart home setup, and care instructions for the materials used in your project.

Kennedy Design+Build was founded by Cameron Kennedy, who brings more than 15 years of hands-on experience in landscape design and outdoor structure construction. Cameron has personally designed and overseen hundreds of projects across central and eastern Pennsylvania, and he walks every property before a single post is set.
That's the difference: you're not handing your yard to a sales rep. You're working directly with the designer from the first site visit through the final walkthrough, with a vetted in-house crew handling the build to his spec.
“The right design will add value to your home and create a backdrop for memories that will last a lifetime.”Cameron Kennedy, Founder
“Kennedy's team transformed our backyard into an amazing place for us to relax. The project contained a gorgeous water feature, patio, gravel area for a fire pit, a pavilion, and landscaping plants/lighting. From start to finish, the team was incredibly hard working, paid attention to details, professional, and kind.”Homeowner, Lehigh Valley, PA
“Cameron was responsive, knowledgeable, and helpful with every question. The Kennedy team went above and beyond to deliver exactly what we envisioned for our outdoor space.”Isaac, Lehigh Valley, PA
“From the first consultation to the final walkthrough, everything was seamless. The pergola is the first place we go in the morning and the last place we leave at night.”Marguerite, Coopersburg, PA
Most pergola installations take 1 to 2 weeks from ground-breaking to final walkthrough, depending on size, foundation requirements, and whether the structure is attached or freestanding. Louvered pergolas with motorized roofs and integrated lighting take a little longer due to wiring and commissioning.
We build pergolas in timber frame (cedar, pressure-treated, or premium hardwoods), powder-coated aluminum with louvered roofs, and vinyl for low-maintenance options. Each material has a different look, lifespan, and maintenance profile, and we will walk through the trade-offs with you in person.
Both. Attached pergolas extend a roofline off your home and are great for covering a patio door or kitchen exit. Freestanding pergolas can go anywhere in the yard, like over a hot tub, outdoor kitchen, or as a destination seating area away from the house.
Motorized louvered roofs (open for sun, close for rain), integrated LED lighting on dimmers, ceiling fans, infrared heaters, retractable screens for bugs and privacy, outdoor speakers, and smart home control via Alexa or Google Home.
Most municipalities in Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton, and surrounding areas require a permit for any structural addition, including pergolas. We handle the permit process as part of every project so you do not have to.
We'll call you back and walk through everything.
